Position Summary
This 501(c)(3) private operating foundation is seeking a full-time Executive Director who will work in a co-leadership model with Program Directors to build and scale our organization in alignment with our mission. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Foundation’s strategic planning and execution of operations and programs ensuring alignment with mission.
Engage with local non-profit organizations and community partners to build strong collaborative relationships within local counties.
Serve as a representative and advocate for the foundation’s mission while ensuring a culture of teamwork and transparency in all operations.
Act with the highest level of integrity and in the organization’s best interest at all times.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Foundation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Manage the Foundation’s financial health, including audit, tax, and regulatory compliance.
Manage fundraising efforts in a manner appropriate for private operating foundations.
Ensure best practices in grantmaking.
Lead and coordinate annual budget development; manage processes for income and expenses, forecasting, grants management, and accurate monthly financial statements.
Implement and oversee major systems, including payroll, benefits, insurance, registration platform, database, communication tools, and inventory control.
Responsible for ensuring that mission, vision, metrics, and impact are communicated consistently across the website, social media, and in all collateral.
Oversee and manage outside vendor support for legal, tax, audit and accounting services.
Prepare accurate and timely reports that communicate results and insights effectively using charts, graphs, and presentations as needed.
Ensure all health, safety, and security guidelines are maintained - especially those related to youth.
Support Program Directors in the leadership and management of on-site staff.
Recruit, hire, and retain a diverse and highly qualified team, ensuring that all staff receive exceptional training and professional development.
Support the Board of Directors in meeting their fiduciary and governance responsibilities.
Education and Experience Requirements
BS or MS degree in Business / Finance. MBA preferred
10+ years of non-profit management experience
10+ years of proven leadership experience
10+ years of experience managing finances
Has formal or informal experience in diverse, low-income schools/communities (a plus)
CPR/First Aid certification (a plus)
Working Conditions / Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Proficient in business software such as QuickBooks, Google Workspace, Excel, payroll, database,
and registration platforms.
Able to access reliable transportation to and from the program site
Able to attend off-site events as needed
